Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture

Chinese Medicine is an ancient form of healthcare that has been transformed into a
contemporary system of prevention and care for acute and chronic conditions. Treatments may involve one or more modalities, depending on the condition being treated and the client’s individual circumstances. Post-treatment suggestions may involve Chinese Herbal formulas, dietary suggestions, stretches and movements that can help shift the condition more rapidly.

Our medical services include:

Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the gentle insertion of fine needles at various points on the body. This stimulation circulates energy and blood throughout the body helping to adjust any disharmony. Both Japanese and Chinese styles of needling are available, with a focus on gentle insertion. Almost any physical or emotional condition can be treated with acupuncture and it is an incredibly safe, side-effect free modality.

Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal medicine is a cocktail of ingredients taken from plants, animals and minerals. It is used for correcting the disharmonic patterns of the body. Chinese Herbal Medicine works with both symptoms and the underlying constitution to appropriately treat any condition. Herbs can be used alone or with other modalities to harmonize, heal and strengthen the underlying cause of physical or emotional disease. Chinese Herbal Medications are safe to use alongside Western Medications, and are incredibly helpful for alleviating side effects, reducing medication dependency, and resolving chronic conditions.

Chinese Massage (TUI NA)
Tuina uses the same meridians and points of acupuncture, but with hands-on physical manipulation to adjust energy flow. This medical massage work can be combined with moxa, cupping, passive joint rotations and fluid movements, or acupuncture needles. Tuina is an excellent technique for those uncomfortable with acupuncture needles.

Qigong Healing
External Qigong is a hands-off technique that works to harmonize, circulate, and strengthen clients’ energy. The Practitioner uses their own energy in addition to universal energies to help guide the body’s systems into patterns of greater harmony. External Qigong may be used alone or combined with other therapies, and is incredibly effective for traumatized tissues, needle sensitive areas and clients who are concerned about physical roughness.
