PAIN is one of the most commonly heard complaints in clinics. This unpleasant sense of discomfort, in most cases associated with tissue damage or inflammation, becomes the second reason of clinic visit which is next to the upper respiratory diseases in our country. Depending on its duration and frequency, we may simply categorize the pain into two types: Acute and Chronic. Acute pain is defined as the pain that comes on quickly, can be severe, but lasts a relatively short time. It may arises suddenly in response to a specific injury. Chronic pain is usually refers to the pain that persists over a long period of time, and is often resistant to medical treatment, therefore, has become one of the most common factors that affect the life quality.
